THE GRANARY
The village of Garton on the Wolds and the tranquil setting of Church Farm offer an ideal base for exploring the East Riding and the Yorkshire Wolds. Church Farm is located off a quiet lane near to the historic Norman church of St Michael and All Angels and is central to many places of interest including the historic towns and cities of York, Beverley and Hull. The North York Moors and the coastal towns of Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough are within easy travelling distance. A little further up the coast but worthy of a day trip are Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes.
The stately homes of Castle Howard and Burton Agnes Hall are close by, and Sledmere House in the unique estate village of Sledmere is just five miles away. Green lanes, bridleways and the Wolds Way national trail offer endless opportunities for walking, cycling and horse riding. Situated within the Yorkshire Nature Triangle, there are numerous nature reserves and places of interest to discover the rich flora and fauna and wildlife at all times of the year, including the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs, one of the best places in the UK to see seabirds.
