Church Court is in the sleepy village of Halkirk, a few minutes drive from Thurso and the coastline. The village has a significant river with quality fishing available. There are also opportunities for golfing, surfing, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, kyaking and walking. The area is also relatively flat and is popular with cyclists.
The village boasts a gourmet accredited restuarant within a large hotel overlooking the river. The hotel also offers traditional pub food in a relaxed and informal bar.
The village shop stocks a large range of localy produced foods including breads, cheeses, duck eggs and meat products.
Accommodation
The house itself is a newly refurbished semi-detached bungalow and although not specifically equipped for wheelchair users, it has sloped access, wider doors throughout and larger areas to the side of the beds and toilet. The property also benefits from level access decking which is south facing and elevated.
The two bedrooms have double beds, one of which has a single sleeping deck above.
The wc/shower room is all new with stone tiles throughout, powerful shower and a larger than usual square shower cubicle.
The kitchen is fully equiped with quality appliances, including fan assisted oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer drier. This room faces south and has a large panoramic window. There is a table that will provide space for four.
The living area features an extra large, south facing window. It is tastefully refurbished with new furniture and floorcoverings. It enjoys the benefit of a media wall which contains a healthy stock of magazines, fiction and non fiction books, CD player with a range of CDs, i-pod docking system with radio, a large flat screen TV offering freeview and a DVD player with a range of DVDs. Seating will accommodate four to five people comfortably.
The house is fully decked outside and faces south. This provides a suntrap and is furnished with solid teak furniture that will accommodate six people.
Heating and hot water are powered by electrity and radiaters are provided in every room.
Thre is ample parking for up to three or four cars as the court is private and used by only two other properties.
