Dumfries and Galloway is a lovely part of the country with rolling hills quaint seaside villages and lots of interesting places to visit including, Historic Houses, Museums and lesiure centres.
If you enjoy your Sport then Dumfries and Galloway is outstanding with many beautiful Golf Courses , Pony trecking,cycling ( seven stanes routes) and walking.You can hire a boat for the afternoon on Loch Ken or go fishing on the many lochs and rivers in the area.Or maybe visit one of the lovely beaches.
If you wish to go further afield The Mull of Galloway is spectacular with lots of interesting places to visit along the way. Port Logan Gardens,Port Patrick with its lovely seaside atmosphere,and the Isle of Whithorn. You will be spoilt for choice!
Because the nights are really dark in this area with very little light polution ,the opportunities to "star gaze" are exceptional in Galloway.So if you wish to see the full wonder of the night sky this is definately one of the places to consider in Britain.
If you like to take your pet away for a hoiday then he/she is most welcome at the Lodge.The garden is fully enclosed. There are doggy walks directly from the site into the hills along forest tracks, for them to enjoy.
We just ask that you keep them on a lead on the site and remove doggy do,s as and when.
The Lodge itself is situated in open countryside approx 6 miles from Dumfries town with its many amenities, inlcuding,shopping, the new DG Swimming pool, cinemas, Theatre and museums.
