Built in 1887, this beautiful converted chapel is located in a small hamlet on the east coast of Kintyre. It has wooden scissor beams throughout and has wonderful views over the Kilbrannan Sound to the isle of Arran. You are within yards of Grogport's safe and sandy beach with its beautiful clear waters. This spot was once a secret haven for whisky smuggling and gives a clue to the origins of its name. - Surrounded by the glorious Kintyre countryside, visitors will have ample opportunity to see an abundance of wildlife including seals, basking sharks, birds of prey and deer. Kintyre offers sea and river fishing, golf, pony trecking, sailing and cycling. There are many coastal, countryside and forest walks together with a number of historical sites to visit.
 - A 5 minute drive will take you to Carradale with its superb long sandy beach. It has a small harour where local fisherman still ply their trade. Carradale has a small shop/garage, and a couple of restaurant/bars.
- 14 miles to the south lies Campbeltown. Here you will find most amenities including shops, supermarkets, restaurants, the oldest cinema in Scotland and a local distillery. Just offshore is the island of Davaar, accessible by causeway it contains a series of small caves worth visiting.
- Tarbert is a 30 minute drive to the north. Situated on its picturesque harbour are a wide veriety of shops, hotels and bars.
