In the Frome valley, next to the Purbeck Hills, and deep in Hardy country is the probable location for Tess of the Durbeville's marriage. The church has been converted into 3 dwellings with the Chancel at the East end. It retains the feel of the church with much of the original stained glass retained, yet has the comfort and luxury of a recent conversion.

The Chancel

The accommodation has one double room complete with en-suite bathroom, one twin room and a single room. This last room has a pull-out bed so The Chancel can sleep six.
There is another bathroom, kitchen, lounge, and dining room.
All the facilities within the Chancel are continually updated including the DVD collection.
There is off-street parking for 2 cars and more by arrangement.
Linen is supplied if required.
Broadband internet access.

The Chancel is 3 miles from the Saxon town of Wareham and 3 miles from Wool and Woolbridge Manor - the setting for Tess's wedding breakfast. Both towns are linked to London by Intercity rail (2 hrs) as is the county town, Dorchester, that is about 10 miles away. All of the beaches of the Isle of Purbeck including Studland, Swanage and Lulworth are a 30 minute or less drive away.
