3 MINUTES WALK FROM THE SEA, CHACEWATER HAS STUNNING, PANORAMIC, 180 degree SEAVIEWS STRETCHING 10MILES UP THE NORTH CORNISH COAST from its elevated position on Pentire Head, all the way up to Trevose Head in the north, Towan Head and Fistral Beach being clearly visible in the foreground. - Lying in bed or curled up on the settee the view, with its waves crashing on the rocks, is mesmerising any time of the year but perhaps particularly so during a winter storm.
- Within a few minutes walk are the dramatic cliff walks of Pentire Head, sandy Fistral beach, famous for its surfers and ideal at low tide for family games of cricket and football; and a cliff top golf course. If you walk ten minutes in either direction next to the sea (one across the beach and one along the cliffs) you come to 2 excellent restaurants. Both overlook the sea and waves crashing on rocks.
- Crantock, famous for its quaint village and beach, is a 20 minute delightful walk away along the cliffs and across the River Gannel, which at high tide you cross by small boat.
- Just 1.5 mls further on along the coastal path from there is West Pentire, owned by the National Trust, with its idyllic beaches and coves such as Polly/Porth Joke and just further on Kelsey Head and Holywell Bay.
- Newquay has a working harbour with fishing trips.
Accommodation The contemporary, 2 bedroomed house is our second home and consequently is well equipped, comfortable and cosy with a Mediterannean feel to it. It has many flowers in dark blue ceramic pots co-ordinating with the dark blue table and chairs outside. In addition there is a gas BBQ and patio heater, and in the garage are 4 adult mountain bikes which you may borrow to ride AT YOUR OWN RISK. Inside are CDs and a CD player, books, videos and family games. There is a TV with video. We co-own a heated SWIMMING and PADDLING pool and SAUNA.
A few miles away are Bedruthan Steps; the famous National Trust beauty spot, Watergate Bay with its Extreme Sports Academy and the acclaimed Porth Beach.
The Eden Project, Tintagel (King Arthur's mythical castle), Boscastle, St Ives with the Tate Gallery, Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor, Land's End, Fowey, St Michael's Mount, The Scilly Isles (by helicopter from Newquay airport), are all within the scope of a day's outing.
In Newquay there are a range of attractions for all the family eg. a zoo, aquarium, boating lake, go-karting, paint-balling and Water World, a tropical paradise complete with flumes and waterfall.
