"Cartwheels" is a beautifully appointed old cottage in the market town of Bakewell, at the heart of the Peak District. It sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms. - Although only five minutes walk to the town centre - with its shops, pubs, antiques, and market stalls (Mondays) - the Cottage is in a peaceful little backwater, next to the Old Town Museum. It is set above the town centre and the lovely River Wye.
- Bakewell is an all-year visitor centre, but is also within easy reach of other well-known Peak District attractions, such as Chatsworth and its many events held in the Park.
 - Haddon Hall is also close by, and Matlock, and the climbing edges.
- It is a walkers' paradise.
- Alton Towers is also easily reachable.
- Golf, fishing, cycling and pot-holing, are among the many pastimes enjoyed from here.
'Carthweels' has been fully refurbished, and is equipped to very high standards and is a warm, cosy, friendly place. It has a 4-star award from the English Tourist Board. - There is a wood-burning fire in the lounge, and a big, old oak beam. TV and a DVD player are there. The lighting and the decor are special features.
 - A stable door looks out onto the very small, but fully enclosed garden.
- There is ample sitting-out space, and a barbecue set is ready.
- A garden shed offers secure shelter for bicycles.
We will provide you with a special parking permit. Although Cunningham place is too narrow for parking outside the door (except when unloading and loading), these permits will let you park at the bottom of the short cul-de-sac, or in any other of the Residents Parking permits throughout Bakewell.
A well-behaved dog is welcomed - and possibly two, but by prior arrangement. We charge £10 per dog.
