The Captain's House is a beautiful, spacious holiday home, with grade II listed status and is situated on one of the finest streets in Appledore. The property is ideal for families or couples. Situated on the North Devon coast, Appledore has something to offer everyone, whether it be a quiet holiday meandering around the quaint narrow streets of this historic fishing village and visiting the well established galleries, to activities such as surfing on one of Devon's finest blue flag beaches, kayaking on the River Torridge and cycling along the Tarka Trail.

Appledore is an old fishing village situated on the North Devon coast. Step out of the house and enjoy views across the Torridge estuary to Instow. Photo at top of page shows view down Bude St.

The village is full of charm with narrow lanes and a number of pubs/shops/galleries offering good food and a friendly family environment.
There is a good range of local facilities including a general store, newsagents, patisserie/tea rooms and highly commended local chip shop.
There is a sandy surfing beach 1 mile away (Westward Ho!), spectacular cliff walks, cycling on the Tarka Trail, golf, sailing, swimming pool and many other attractions on the doorstep.
There are local activity centres (Skerne Lodge and North Devon Surf school) where you can receive lessons on surfing and other sports.
There are daily fishing trips from the quay which can be arranged locally.
In addition for the younger children there is the Big Sheep, which is particularly good for rainy days.

The Captain's House is situated in Bude Street, which is part of a conservation area, just 70 yards from the quayside. The house is situated in one of Appledore's finest streets and has grade 2 listed status. The property has recently been refurbished. The house is light and spacious and covers 3 floors.

Ground Floor: Entrance hall, lounge/diner, fully equipped kitchen, shower room with WC and wash basin.
First Floor: 2 double bedrooms and 1 single, bathroom with shower.
Second Floor: Large sail loft with 2 single beds. This room has exposed beams and views of the estuary. Popular with children. It has its own TV with Freeview.
