You will find a warm welcome at Candlewick Cottage, which is in a quiet road near the centre of the historic market town of Kirkbymoorside. The cottage dates back to the early 1700s, and is one of the oldest houses in the town. The Cottage
The cottage, which is centrally heated, has a spacious sitting/dining room and a well equipped kitchen.
A large twin bedroom, a large single bedroom, and a modern bathroom. Bed linen and towels are included.
There is a secluded sunny walled garden, with shrubs, flowers and garden furniture, and a comfortably furnished garden room.
Candlewick Cottage is let on a weekly basis, Saturday to Saturday, but regret no short breaks. The prices are not subject to either agency fees or VAT. An illustrated brochure is available on request.
Kirkbymoorside is on the edge of the beautiful North York Moors. A market charter was granted in the 13th century, and a thriving open market is still held every Wednesday. There are small hotels and inns in the town (most serving food at lunchtime and in the evening), with country pubs and restaurants within easy distance. There is a challenging 18-hole golf course on the edge of the town.
This is an excellent base for exploring the moors, castles, abbeys, stately homes, the steam railway, the City of York and the coast - so much to do and see. All guests are greeted personally, and I am sure you will enjoy a relaxed and interesting holiday.
