This is a traditional 19th century stone built detached cottage, once occupied by the local miller. Brux mill and Brux steading are located either side of the cottage and are now both converted to dwellings. All three properties overlook the River Don in rural Aberdeenshire, with open views over the valley and hills.
Accommodation The entrance hall way has a radiator and cloak cupboard. The living room with its polished wood floor and stone built fireplace, within which is set a wood burning stove is a warm and restful room. Leading from the living room there is a dining room and onward access to a well-equipped kitchen, which includes a dishwasher, wine chiller, washer/dryer and fridge/freezer. The floors are ceramic tiles. The bathroom is a wet room with shower and Jacuzzi bath. The main bedroom at the front of the cottage has a queen size bed, and along one wall a mirror wardrobe. The second bedroom has twin beds. Both rooms are fully carpeted. The cottage has full oil-fired central heating. Outside - Outside there are gardens to the front, side and rear of the cottage.
- The private rear garden has a stonewall incorporating a B-B-Q. There is also a log store.
Fishing permits can be obtained for the river Don from the Kildrummy Estate. There are Golf Courses at Alford, Tarland and Ballater. Ballater, at the centre of Royal Deeside is approximately a half hour drive. The cottage is located within easy reach of the Cairngorm National Park, the Lecht Ski Centre and Scotland's Castle and Whisky Trails.
There are a number of excellent places to eat in the area including the Kildrummy Castle Hotel, Kildrummy Inn and the Glendkindie Hotel.
For grocery shopping, Alford is approximately 8 miles and for city shopping Aberdeen is approximately 32 miles.
