 Brocklebank Ground Holiday Cottages in Torver, (a small hamlet 2 miles from Coniston village) are 3 delightful cottages in a picturesque setting converted from a 17th century 'bank barn'. They are situated at the end of a 200m private driveway with a large enclosed garden, views across the valley to the front, with a backdrop of woodland and fells to the rear containing an abundance of wildlife, including Owls, Buzzards, deer and red squirrels.
Relax in the peaceful and quiet surroundings of the area which are an ideal base for exploring the area on foot, with paths from the door both onto Coniston 'Old Man' and across Torver common to Coniston water itself. They also form an excellent starting point for touring the Lake District by car with Ambleside and Lake Windermere being only 15 minutes away.
There are 2 dog and child friendly pubs which serve very good food within easy walking distance of the cottages.
Accommodation
There are 3 cottages, all fully equipped, gas central heating, linen and towels as well as videos, books and logs for the fires all provided.
The Old Pottery:
Three bedrooms, (one double with ensuite shower room, a further double and the third with a single and bunk beds) a family bathroom with shower over bath, a fully equipped dining kitchen, and a large lounge with TV DVD, mini hifi and log burning stove.
The Old Stable:
One double bedroom, a second with 2 single beds, a modern bathroom with shower over bath, a large open plan living room with fully fitted kitchen and dining area.
The Old Dairy:
A cosy one bedroom cottage with modern bathroom, fully equipped kitchen/diner and a lounge with TV video and log stove etc.
Weekends and short breaks are available.
Changeover day is Friday.
