Britannia House and The Cottage are two traditional stone cottages of great charm and character situated in the centre of Holy Island, on the village green. Spacious and comfortable, they have excellent furnishings and facilities. While the cottages are rented separately, they are also ideal for two families or groups wishing to holiday together, sleeping 6 and 4 respectively. Both houses are double glazed and have oil fired central heating.
Holy Island, or Lindisfarne, is a tidal island two miles off the mainland, reached by causeway at low tide. You are never far from the sea, and there are some beautiful sandy beaches with stunning views along the Northumbrian coastline. The entire island and nearby coastline are designated as a National Nature Reserve, with a great variety of plant and birdlife. It is also famous as the cradle of early Christianity in the eighth century AD, when the famous Lindisfarne Gospels were produced.  There are lovely walks around the island, as well as the castle and ruined priory to visit, a museum, harbour, Heritage Centre, as well as pubs and some interesting shops.

Further afield, there is plenty to explore - the spectacular Northumbrian coast and castles, the Cheviot hills, stately homes and the historic market town of Berwick upon Tweed.
BRITANNIA HOUSE:
On the ground floor: Sitting room. Spacious, comfortable room with original beamed ceiling and apothecary storage drawers. Stone built fireplace, television and video recorder, comfortable sofa and armchairs. Kitchen. Fitted with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, conventional and microwave ovens. Dining room, with dining table and chairs. Access to rear courtyard. Washing machine and tumble dryer. On the first floor: Main bedroom. Kingsize double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bay window with views to sea. Bedroom two. Twin room with 3-foot bunks, wardrobe, chest of drawers. Bathroom. Toilet, hand basin and bath with separate shower attachment. On the second floor: Bedroom three. Loft bedroom with twin beds, chest of drawers, cupboards. Shower room. Shower with shower, handbasin and toilet. Facilities: Oil fired central heating throughout, and double glazed. Linen provided. Outside: There is a grassed area to the front of the house, and a sunny courtyard with garden furniture to the rear. One small pet by arrangement.

On the ground floor: Spacious living/dining room with open fire and feature fireplace, comfortable sofa and armchairs, tv and video, dining table and dresser. Fitted kitchen. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. Bathroom with bath and shower. On the first floor: Main bedroom with ensuite shower, handbasin and toilet. Large room with kingsize double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers. Bedroom two. Twin room with twin beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers. Facilities: Oil fired central heating, and double glazed. Linen provided. Outside: There is a sunny courtyard at the rear of the property with garden furniture. Street parking outside. One small pet by arrangement
