Borvemor Cottages on the West Coast of South Harris in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, occupy a superb location on croft land with direct access to one of the glorious shell sand Atlantic beaches which is enjoyable in all weather and seasons. There are four different types and styles of cottages.

The two storey house Vallay shown here was recently built up from the walls of the late 18th century Borvemor House and is fully modernised with three bedrooms and an adjoining dressing room suitable as a bedroom for small children. The house sleeps 5/6. Graded 4 Stars by VisitScotland.
The other three cottages consist of single storey accommodation and have been graded by the Scottish Tourist Board with four stars for the recent construction of a thatched Black House, sleeps 2, and three and two stars for the Stable and Byre cottages, converted from former steading buildings, sleeping 5/6 each. Combined into one, the Steading cottages can sleep 11.

Facilities include: Access to a thirty acre working croft with Highland Cattle, and Blackface sheep. There is a trout loch behind the croft, quarter of an hours hill walk, and an excellent 9 hole links golf course one mile away, accessible on a daily basis. -------------------------- The tariff includes all bed linen and two sets of towels and additional towels can be hired. Cots and baby alarms. Electricity is metered and paid at end of week. There are washing machine/dryers, microwave and electric cookers, fridges, electric showers, as well as baths in Blackhouse and Vallay, and radio/tape recorders in all cottages. There is no terrestrial TV reception but a DVD player is provided.
