In the heart of the beautiful Lake District National Park this delightful 200 year old traditional stone terraced cottage of character is situated in the little hamlet of Edinboro, off the Kirkstone Road on the edge of Ambleside, away from the hustle and bustle.
The peaceful hillside setting above Stock Gyll Force (you can hear the famous waterfall from the cottage garden!) faces due south and has a glorious view to Wansfell Pike and to Loughrigg. An ideal base for touring, walking or climbing - just relax or enjoy spectacular hikes from the door!
The small, friendly market town of Ambleside, nestled amidst the fells of Fairfield, Loughrigg and Wansfell, at the head of Lake Windermere - is only 5 minutes walk from the cottage. Here you will find a Tourist Information Centre, post office, late night Spar & Coop, butchery, bakeries, fish n'chips, pubs & cafes, excellent restaurants, two cinemas, varied shops, banks & buses to other lakes. There is always lots going on here - flower festivals, bonfire night, Christmas lights, weekly market etc etc.
Much loved by its owner, Birch Cottage provides a real 'home from home' - an ideal place to relax after a long day out. Laid out on three storeys, it is comfortably furnished, tastefully decorated & well-equipped throughout. Cosy even in winter, it has full gas central heating.
