Winter and Early Spring

Winter and Early Spring, before the leaves come on trees and hedgerow, when the bare bones of the countryside are visible and views are uninterupted. A great time for brisk walks, pub meals, sighting birds, wldlife, and early Spring flowers - our local NT properties have regular snowdrop walks and other activies.  No manic airports, busy beaches, fractious children, long queues for over-priced attractions - just peace and quiet!

Bryn Celyn is situated in "walking country" with Offa's Dyke path on the door step, Glyndwr's Way and the Severn Way near by, and several other long distace paths, such as the Kerry Ridgeway, within a short car journey. Alternatively, you can opt for something less strenuous - an amble along the tow path of the Montgomery Canal,to lunch at a wayside pub; a wander through Llanymynech Limestone Heritage Centre to see the industrial architechture and unique Hoffman Kiln; a gentle meander along the River Vyrnwy - all on the door step, or venture a little further afield and take one of the short sign posted walks from a local village pub (and back again!)

There are four major
National Trust properties within 30 mins drive and a dozen within an hour, many of which have additional activities throughout the Spring, and the World Heritage Site at Ironbridge is 45 mins away. The newly designated World Heritage Site, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, the "stream in the skye",is 30 minutes drive.

To cater for outdoor enthusiasts we now have a heated, lockable store, ideal for cycles, fishing tackle, windsurfers etc., and for drying outdoor clothing.

There is a wealth of information in "Y Beudy", or we can suggest itineries.

A chance to spend some stress free quality time without spending a fortune.

Ideal for twosomes or couples  (super king or twin beds)
Everything is here, just bring your toothbrush, relax and enjoy!

A warm welcome awaits you from your hosts, Barbara and Norman.
