At the end of a short unmade track, this idyllic hideaway is a private and peaceful retreat, yet only 2 miles from Gatehouse-of-Fleet (shops, pubs, restaurants). Gatehouse-of-Fleet lies close to the Galloway Forest Park, recently named one of the best star-gazing sites in the world.

Location
A haven for wildlife (bats, badgers, birds and red squirrels!), the cottage is ideally situated for walking and cycling. Walks and cycle trails (National Cycle Route 7), which lead through the forest and down to the coast, are literally on your doorstep! Cycle hire in nearby Kirkcudbright. Large sandy beaches of Sandgreen and Carrick, with its rock pools, nearby, and golf, riding, watersports on Loch Ken, fishing (lake and sea), all within easy reach. Well-behaved dogs welcome.
