If you are a couple looking for a chic town centre pied-a-terre then Number Two is the property for you. Much thought has been given to the decor throughout, making good use of natural woods and granite, pastel colours and co-ordinated fabrics, to give a modern and stylish interior.

Number Two is tucked away in one of the ancient and secluded wynds (wynd is a Norse term dating from the Viking invasions of the area), which are a feature of Richmond, and is so close to the castle that you can see the castle keep from the bedroom window.
  • Richmond was founded by the Normans in 1071 and was built around its castle, which still dominates the town and its cobbled market place. It is a town of unique character and beauty which has changed little, and has a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, with the stunning scenery of the glorious Yorkshire Dales on the doorstep. What more could you want?
  • South View is just off cobbled Newbiggin, one of the finest of Richmond's streetscapes, with elegant Georgian townhouses and the old gaol at the end.
  • There is no need to use the car on a daily basis as Richmond offers excellent local shopping, including its ancient market, the Georgian Theatre Royal, pubs, cafes and restaurants, along with the fabulous Richmond Castle and the River Swale which runs through the town.
  • There are walks from the door in abundance, either in or around the town or in the open countryside of the Yorkshire Dales National Park beyond.
  • Short breaks and longer breaks available all year with Friday and Monday changeovers, meaning that you can stay for as long as you choose.

The Accommodation and Features

  • You enter the cottage into a small entrance porch with coat hanging and boot and shoe space, and from here into the living/dining room and kitchen, with its natural wood floor, comfy black leather easy chairs and designer gas fire set flush into the wall.
  • The bistro table and chairs are perfect for a romantic meal for two, set with the dramatic black and white crockery.
  • The kitchen is state of the art with stainless steel appliances and a granite worktop.
  • Upstairs there is a king sized bedroom with a view across to the castle keep, and a bathroom with bath with shower over, WC and washbasin, and for that added luxury an LCD TV to watch whilst luxuriating in the bath.
  • Outside is a shared paved courtyard and garden with garden furniture - just the place to have an alfresco coffee or glass of wine.
  • Gas fire in living room and full central heating.
  • Electric fan oven and grill, ceramic hob, microwave, washer/drier, fridge, freezer, flat screen LCD TV and DVD player in living room, radio/CD player, tourist information, maps, books, games, bedlinen, teatowels and towels all provided, bathroom with bath with power shower over, WC, washbasin, shaver point, heated towel rail and LCD TV, patio area with garden furniture, on street parking-unrestricted overnight between 4pm and 10am.
  • All utility costs included within the hire charge.
  • Number Two is not suitable for young children.
  • Sorry no pets or smokers.
