This exceptional cottage nestles in the charming village of Thwaite in the heart of Swaledale, the most northerly of Yorkshire's major dales. Greystones was built in the 1700's and has been owned and cherished by the same family for generations. It is a superb cottage with beamed ceilings, an open fire, traditional stone flagged stairs and a cobbled back yard leading to the secluded garden which gives stunning views up Swaledale. It backs on directly to the finest traditional hay meadows in the Dales, which are now protected and in Spring and Summer are a riot of colour. - 4 star grading awarded by Visit Britain recognising the quality and luxury of the cottage.
- The location is ideal, with walks from the door including the Pennine Way and the Coast to Coast.
- There is easy access to the nearby towns of Hawes, Leyburn, Richmond, Barnard Castle and Kirkby Stephen.
- Waterfalls abound with Kisdon Force, Catrake Force and Wain Wath Force a mile or so away.
 - There is a pub, restaurant and coffee shop in the village at the Kearton Hotel and a village shop, tea shop craft shops and pub in Muker 1 mile away.
- Some of the best walking country in the area is on your doorstep, and you may wish to never use your car.
- We also have an arrangement with a local caterer, Granary Foods, who take the 'self' out of catering, and who make and supply everything that you need for a delicious Yorkshire Breakfast, and also provide a delicious range of home made meals, which can be delivered to the cottage for your arrival - just ask us for a copy of their menu.
