Once an apple store and judging by the angle of some of the walls, a cider brewery as well, Apple Cottage is on a small private estate nestled between the river Earn and the Ochil hills. Rossie dates from 1657 so there are magnificent trees on the estate and the gardens are open in May under Scotlands' Gardens scheme. The paddocks and surrounding farmland make you feel as if you are in the midst of the best the countryside has to offer. Accommodation In 2007 Apple Cottage was restored to make a comfortable double bedroomed cottage available for self-catering rental for two. Location
It is an ideal place to holiday from; Perth is only 7 miles away, with its concert hall and good restaurants, many golf courses are all around, Gleneagles - 15 minutes, St Andrews, Edinburgh and Glasgow are within an hour away.
Being so centrally situated it is an ideal location for setting off to the east coast of Fife or North for a day in the Highlands.
Alternatively, if you just want to relax at Rossie, you can walk to the river Earn for some fishing, back for a game of tennis on the astroturf court and then walk through the gardens in the evening with a glass of wine.
