Appin House in North Argyll dates from 1840. We, Dave and Denys Mathieson, live there ourselves. Within the large fragrant garden are three cosy woodclad 4 star Lodges and our newly built 3-bedroomed 4 star house. 'Birch' and 'Pine' Lodges sleep up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms, and our large 'Gate Lodge' has 3 bedrooms with stupendous views from all windows. Our new house 'Tigh an Lios' is similar to Gate Lodge in size and specification. Tigh an Lios - New for 2007
Set in a sheltered position at the front of Appin House garden, with pleasant views of the Sound of Shuna and Loch Linnhe. South facing with sunny patio. Barbecue. - Large open plan living area downstairs with small seating area upstairs.
- Travertine flooring in lounge/dining area with underfloor heating throughout ground floor.
- Multifuel stove in fireplace.
- Very well insulated with fresh air heat recovery/ventilation system.
- 3 bedrooms - 2 upstairs, 1 downstairs. 1 with 5ft double bed, 2 with twin zip-link beds. Downstairs bedroom suitable for wheelchair using guests.
- All bedrooms ensuite to shower or bathroom - downstairs 'wet room' also suitable for wheelchair users with grab rails etc.
- Further separate sleeping space upstairs with 2 single beds stacked as seating when not in use.
- Large cot in double bedroom.
Having been operating a self catering business for 24 years we well know how to cater for discerning guests. Warmth, comfort and privacy are top priorities. The individual properties, however, are all different and described on our own website (please click on our website link button (above or below).
General details for all properties: Between June and September letting is weekly - Sat-Sat (Fri-Fri for Tigh an Lios). Outwith these months shorter stays can be accommodated - with 3 days being the minimum let. Well behaved dogs are welcome at Appin House in most properties. All properties are family friendly, and cots and high chairs are available with prior notice. Adjacent to our house are two, 2 star apartments for couples only.
