 Allt Ribhein is a spacious detached cottage in a picturesque and peaceful setting. It stands in an elevated position above Fiskavaig Bay and offers impressive views across Loch Bracadale to Macleod's Tables and beyond. On clear summer evenings the sunset (behind Macleod's Tables) is truly stunning. Sail boats use the Loch in summer, culminating in the annual Talisker Yacht Regatta. The summer months often see the arrival of basking sharks and minke whale to the waters around Skye and previously Loch Bracadale has been one of the places visited.
Location
Allt Ribhein is located approximately 37 miles (or 45 min by car) from the Skye Bridge. It is approximately 3 miles from Carbost (where facilities include a village shop, Post Office, Doctor's surgery, Inn and the Talisker Distillery), 12 miles from Sligachan (one of the main access points for the Cuillin mountain range and the home of the famous Sligachan Hotel), and 25 miles from Dunvegan (home to Dunvegan Castle, the ancestral seat of the chieftains of the Clan MacLeod). Portree, the island's capital, is 22 miles away.
The accommodation comprises: 3 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin, 1 single). Additional fold-down bed and sofabed available if required. Large family bathroom upstairs and shower-room with WC downstairs. Large well-equipped kitchen with dining and utility areas (equipment includes electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine). Comfortable, well-equipped sitting room with views across the bay (leather suite, gas and electric fires, TV, video, hi-fi, large collection of books and videos). Large study/children's play room with views across the bay. Cot and high chair available. Storage heaters in hall, kitchen and study. Additional convection heaters.
