This delightful, quaint traditional 18th Century cottage has been recently decorated and lovingly restored throughout, featuring original beamed ceilings and refurbished to a very high standard with a high quality kitchen and bathroom.

Ideally situated just a few minutes walk from the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, Pickering's attractive castle and market place. Dalby Forest is only a short drive, providing excellent facilities for walking, mountain biking and outdoor pursuits. Also, Flamingoland Theme Park and Zoo is within easy reach. Visit the historical city of York, with its stunning Minster and the famous Jorvik Viking Centre. The seaside resort of Scarborough, with its beautiful sweeping coastline is only half an hours drive away and the historic port of Whitby, birthplace of Dracula and Robin Hoods Bay are all within an easy drive.

This cottage is our own holiday "jewel in the crown", because it is ideally situated within walking distance of the centre of the picturesque market town of Pickering, so is therefore close for restaurants, shops, a variety of pubs and supermarkets. It is also the gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors, famous long before the TV show 'Heartbeat'! There are forests within 5 minutes drive, which have plenty of space for walking (dogs optional), mountain biking (bikes can easily be hired), there's even an off road 4x4 centre! Within the forest there are plenty of other activities for children, such as very good play areas and plenty of streams for paddling in Summer or Winter!
