 This comfortably furnished and well-maintained detached cottage is situated in a small country village, on the beautiful Isle of Lewis. Within a 10 minute walk you will find the shore and there are sandy beaches within 5 miles. There are 2 mini-markets, petrol station and garage all within 3 miles from the cottage. This is a very peaceful location from which to explore the wonderful sights of the Western Isles; and see a variety of local bird and wildlife in their natural habitat.

Accommodation:  
  • Kitchen/dining room with Rayburn, Electric cooker, microwave, freezer, fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer.
  • Living room with open or electric fire, storage heaters, TV, stereo/CD.
  • Bathroom/WC, electric shower.
  • First floor: two bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin. Hairdryers in bedrooms.
  • Sleeps 4.
  • Carpeted throughout.
  • Bed linen and towels supplied.
  • Fuel supplied for first weekend, it's then up to tenant to purchase coal at nearby store.
  • Electricity by card meter (£5 tokens available from owner).
  • Welcome Tray (tea / coffee & biscuits).
  • Fresh flowers.

Location:  
  • The island of Lewis has many places of interest. One of the highlights would be a visit to the Butt-of-Lewis to see its impressive lighthouse and even more so the cliffs where nesting sea birds and dramatic scenery makes an unforgettable experience.
  • Eoropie has a lovely children's play area where you can spend most of the day there and a further up the road there is a tea room where you can relax with a cup of tea, cofee and home baking. Close to the play park there is a lovely sandy beach.
  • Also in Eoropie there is St Moluag's church which dates back to the 12th century and is the oldest church in use in the Western Isles. Open throughout the summer months and visitors are welcome.
  • In Port-of-Ness there is Harbour View Gallery where you can purchase paintings, prints and greetings cards. Ness Heritage Centre (communn eachdraidh nis) provides an insight into the local history of the area. You will also find there an archive of photographs, documents etc.
West side places of interest  
  • Borve pottery borve, Mournag gallery Barvas, Arnol blackhouse Arnol, Whale bone arch Bragar, Shawbost norse mill Shawbost, Gearranan black house village Carloway, and of course The standing stones Callanish.
  • Stornoway-Lewis castle, An Lanntair Arts Centre, Lewis loom centre to mention but a few.
