"Fantastic house in a wonderful location!"

We enjoyed a fabulous week on Arran just after the terrible snow storms and electricity problems the island had faced.The booking team were extremely helpful and kept us fully informed about the situation the week before we went. The owner Nick couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating.

The Grange is a wonderfully located period property right next to the sea in Whiting Bay. Everything about the house is warm, comfortable and homely. It is much more spacious than the photographs suggest. Every room is well decorated and furnished with beautiful artwork on display, from suits of armour, paintings and lovely ceramics. Our favourite room was the living room with its open fire and fantastic bay window room with breathtaking views across the sea. Outside, the gardens are large and well kept with plenty of space for the children to play.

We enjoyed the beach opposite as well as having easy access to local shops and restaurants. Coast was our favourite local restaurant with The Trafalgar a quirky second. Further afield, we played golf at Shiskine, went swimming at Auchrannie Resort, walked at Kildonan and Lochranza and went to the distillery. The bus service is excellent and there are taxis.

We are regular visitors to Arran and other Scottish islands - this is without doubt the best large property we have ever stayed in. We are almost certain to return next year and we would recommend this for a larger family gathering or group of friends so that you can take advantage of the top floor sauna and jacuzzi bath!

Like the island itself, The Grange is relaxing, beautiful and stunningly located and will not disappoint.

Reduced occupancy option

A discount of 30% on the full house rates is available on request for smaller groups of up to 9 guests.  With this option, the second floor is closed off and therefore the mini spa is not included. 


Short breaks enquires welcomed

Last minute short breaks: These may be available during peak periods at short notice. 

Short break rates are calculated as a percentage of the applicable weekly rate, as follows:

   2 nights = 65%
   3 nights = 70%
   4 nights = 75%
   5 nights = 80%
   6/7 nights = 100%


Booking information

A deposit of 30% is required to confirm a booking with the balance due within 6 weeks of the arrival date.  If booking within 6 weeks of the arrival date, the full balance is payable.
