The old croft house, which sits near a sandy beach, has recently been refurbished and is now available for self catering holidays. Although the cottage only has a view of the sea from one of the bedroom windows just stepping outside offers you spectacular views over to Skye, Raasay and the Outer Hebrides in the West and the Torridon hills to the North. The house has a cosy feel with an AGA in the kitchen and a large wood burning stove in the lounge. The Applecross peninsula offers some of the most dramatic scenery in Scotland. It is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, walkers and fisherman.
The food lover is also well catered for with some excellent places to eat locally. Both the Walled Garden and the Applecross Inn nearby offer freshly caught seafood and local produce. The Sheildaig Hotel is a 30 minute drive where there is a relaxed friendly bar and an adjoining restaurant serving food of a high standard. Slightly further afield the seafood bar at Kishorn is one of the areas best kept secrets or for the bon viveur there is the luxury of the Loch Torridon Hotel. The spectacular Inverewe Gardens are also within easy reach.
Accomodation The former croft house which was rebuilt some 10 years ago has recently had a major restyle. It has been redecorated with a seascape theme in mind - pastel colours from Farrow and Ball, natural driftwood reminders, seagrass carpets and nautical oddities. Cuiag has been tastefully furnished with a mixture of antique and more modern pieces to create a welcoming and relaxing environment in a rugged setting. - The two bedrooms upstairs have large velux windows one looking west to the Hebrides, the other looking north to the high hills of Torridon.
- The cottage is in a superb position to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Highlands, West coast sunsets or even a glimpse of the Northern lights.
Facilities - The master bedroom has a large double bed, the second bedroom has 1 single and 1 double bed and there is a small childrens' bedroom.
- Downstairs there is a spacious kitchen/breakfast room with the AGA as a focal point, a shower room and a snug living room with wood burning stove.
- There is a DVD player CD and radio.
- The water supply is private and comes from the surrounding hills. As a precaution you may want to boil water for personal consumption or use bottled water.
- The kitchen is well appointed and includes a washing machine. There is a large fridge/freezer.
- All bed linen, blankets and tea towels are supplied but guests should bring their own towels.
- Bathroom with electric shower over the bath.
- One of the beds is an adjustable sliding kids bed and the garden is enclosed for children and pets.
- Dogs must be kept on a lean and under strict control outwith the garden area. 2 pets may be accepted, please ask before booking.
Good Housekeeping Deposit of £50 required.
