Castle Cottage, on Renvyle Bay, Connemara, is situated 100 metres from the sea and within a stone's throw of the impressive ruins of one of the castles (associated with the 'pirate queen' Grace O'Malley) which were established along the west coast of Ireland in the 16th century. It is off a minor cul-de-sac road.
 
Accommodation  Using all the beds, there is sleeping accommodation for 10. The cottage is therefore suitable for two families or groups of friends to share. We particularly welcome families with small children, for whom there is a collection of books in the Children's Room as well as toys and board-games. In keeping with its peaceful and unspoilt surroundings it does not have a TV or telephone. It stands in its own large garden, safe for children, and has parking space for at least two cars. The living room has an open fire and two magnificent windows looking out over the Atlantic towards Clare Island and Achill to the north, and to the holy mountain for Croagh Patrick to the north-east. The galley kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils, cutlery and china and dishwasher and washing machine. Visitors will find a welcome pack of groceries awaiting them on arrival and we arrange for an initial supply of fuel for the open fire. Gas for the cooker and a spare cylinder will be provided. Duvets and linen are provided.
